Some of our Boer-cross Does

Most of our cross-bred kids average 3/4 Boer, 1/8 Tennessee Stiff-Leg, and 1/8 Nubian. These kids are large and fast-maturing. Coloring for the most part is typical of the Boer breed with dark heads and white bodies, although we occasionally will have kids born that are solid or multi-colored.   Our does are good mothers, giving plenty of milk to raise twins and triplets.   Kids are weaned at ten to twelve weeks of age and average 40 to 50 pounds at that time.   Of course, there is the exception.   One notable wether, Samson, weighed 100 pounds at five months!  Our crossbred wethers consistently place in the top half of their classes at county shows in the South Central Texas area.  A Niko grandson was the 1999 Waller County Market Goat Champion.
